The 5 coolest co-living spaces around the world

By Charlotte Deprez Published 21/09/2017

Coliving has many advantages (we even listed them here!), but one of them being that it allows you to move in and out quickly, hence travel without worrying of your lease! If you’re aiming at becoming a digital nomad, it can come in very handy. Therefore, we listed the best co-living spaces in the world right now. Ready to be location independent?

1 – The Collective

The Collective is a pioneering (huge) UK co-living space. It all started in 2012 and grew until today to become a 10-floor building hosting more than 500 people!

Where: London city center

Rent per week: the different rooms, all fully-furnished, obviously, range from €200 (+€45 charges) to €370, depending on whether you have a private kitchen, a view, etc. The usual, medium rent is €280 per week or 1260€/month. When you know that the medium rent for a simple studio in that area is above 1120€, this is a really good deal. However, keep in mind that the less you stay, the more expensive it gets per week.

Deposit: yes, €565

Services: wi-fi, a gym, room cleaning, linen changes, access to communal spaces, community events and their 24/7 on-site team

Minimum & maximum stay: 4 to 12 months

2 – Roam

Roam has the dreamiest locations all over the world at a very fair pricing and the utmost freedom when it comes to move in or out.

Where: Miami, Ubud (Bali), London, Tokyo and soon San Francisco

Rent per week: depending on the location, they go from €300 to €600 per week. Ubud is the cheapest location, London the most expensive.

Deposit: no

Services: access to all communal areas and the coworking space (open 24/7! Yay night owls!), a shared kitchen, wi-fi and laundry facilities. Depending on the location, you can also count on a pool, a media room, an event space, …

Minimum & maximum stay: 7 nights up to your entire life

Additional info: Roam has a Flex plan with which you can buy nights in bulk and then use them whenever you want!

3 – Zoku

Always wanted to live in Amsterdam and have drinks by the picturesque canals at night? You can do all of that while living and working in one of Zoku’s rooms and lofts.

Where: Amsterdam

Rent per week: the rooms range from €72 to €187 per night, and the lofts from €210 to €233, whether it’s the standard, so 24m², or the XL, 30m². A shared room per week would cost around €350.

Deposit: yes, 25% of the total amount

Services: wi-fi, television, cleaning, access to their 500m2 of common space including a bar, a living room, a living kitchen, co-working spaces, meeting rooms. Zoku also features a Treatment Room, a Game Room, a Music Corner, a Locker Room, a Launderette and guest pantries.
